Introduction to Virtual Worlds

 

What's the buzz about Virtual Worlds in education?  Are educators just trying to capitalize on the video game / mmorpg experience, or is there more to it than that?  One motivation for the use of virtual worlds in education seems to be the ability of these worlds to create a more real sense of shared space in distance learning classrooms.
